Clybourne Park is a bold, two-act satire inspired by Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun. Act One, set in 1959, exposes white community leaders’ desperate attempts to block a black family from moving into their Chicago neighborhood. Act Two jumps to 2009, returning to the same house - now in a predominantly black community facing the pressures of gentrification. Sharp, provocative, and darkly funny, Clybourne Park challenges audiences to confront how race, power, and community evolve - and how much remains unchanged.
