One of the largest cattle drives in Tyrol. Colorfully decorated cows, craftsmanship and real Tyrolean delicacies make the Almabtrieb in Reith im Alpbachtal a special festival that is celebrated every year.

The Reither Almabtrieb is one of the largest Almabtrieb in Tyrol with visitors from all over the world. Enjoy a large craft market, a gourmet market, a cattle drive through the village from around midday, Tyrolean music groups at the festival sites, Tyrolean specialties and home cooking, alphorn players & Rottacher Goasslschnalzer.

The festival begins in Reith im Alpbachtal with the entry of the music band and a concert. Along the route, farmers spoil you with regional specialties and numerous craftsmen provide insights into their traditional handicrafts.  The first cows will trot through the center of town. The pot-bellied beauties always enraptured the audience, as the farmers decorated their cows with magnificent ribbons, colorful head shields and cheerfully ringing bells.

While you wait for the next returnees, vagabond alphorn players, “Goasslschnalzer” and numerous Tyrolean folk music groups will provide entertainment. There are food stalls everywhere that tempt you with real delicacies.
