Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity to stay healthy while exploring the stunning countryside of Germany and Europe on countless bike routes and paths. It's the 2023 IMCOM-Europe Cycling Challenge! The event started on May 1 and will continue until September 8, but you can join in anytime. Remember to register before August 1 to receive a customized cycling jersey.
During this challenge, you can accumulate kilometers and earn various awards:
To be eligible for the coins, make sure to submit your kilometers in person at Stuttgart Outdoor Recreation before September 8. Please note that only kilometers ridden during the challenge period will count. Unfortunately, backdated kilometers completed before May 1 or your registration date are not permitted. For example, if you registered on June 1, you can only report rides starting from that date.
Participants must have authorization to use IMCOM-Europe Family and MWR facilities and are required to track their bike ride distances using a device. If you need recommendations for devices and apps, feel free to contact Stuttgart Outdoor Recreation.
When you visit Outdoor Recreation, they will document your rides and log them, with the customer and facility staff providing their signatures. All types of outdoor bicycles, including traditional road, mountain, city/commuter, and E-bikes, are allowed for this challenge. However, kilometers covered on training apparatus will not be counted. Although the challenge is primarily designed for adults, youth can also participate but will receive an adult-sized jersey.
Please remember that unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. Additionally, fraudulent reporting of mileage/kilometers biked will result in removal from the program, with the participant not receiving any of the tiered gifts. Any violation of these rules will result in disqualification from the challenge. Commanders will be notified of any disqualifications.
By registering for this program, participants acknowledge the potential risks associated with cycling and accept full responsibility for their health, performance, and equipment. Group rides will count towards your cycling goals. It's important to note that Outdoor Recreation is not liable for any injuries or damages that may occur during your participation in this cycling challenge.
Cost
$50 per person (includes custom cycling jersey). Registration after Aug. 1 is only $15 (and you will only receive the commemorative coin for achievement milestone).
