USAG Stuttgart Family & MWR will be giving away 50 “Everclear” Meet & Greet tickets to meet the legendary rock band at the Independence Day Celebration on July 4^th.    

These tickets will be given away via a randomized online drawing. 

Fifty (50) winners will be drawn, and each will receive 1 FREE Meet & Greet ticket that will provide the winner and a +1 guest to meet Everclear.

• Apple Pie Eating Contest at 5:30 p.m. at the Main Stage.
• Watermelon Eating Contest at 8:30 p.m. at the Main Stage.

Registration

• Free and Open to anyone to participate (US or Local National) for either contest.
• Participating age limits:
  • Kids (ages 6-13) 
  • Adults (age 14+)
• Parents and/or guardians need to sign off for participants 17 and younger.
• Participants must sign up at least 30 minutes prior to contest at the Main Stage. 
  • Deadline is 5 p.m. for Apple Pie Eating Contest. 
  • Deadline is 8 p.m. for the Watermelon Eating Contest.

Rules

• Participants cannot use their hands during apple pie contest; hands must be behind the back.
• Hands are allowed for the watermelon contest.
• Participants will be standing.
• Watermelon must be eaten to the rind.
• Pie & Crust must be finished for apple pies.
• Winner determined by who eats the provided food the fastest!

Everclear hits the main stage at the Independence Day Celebration at 9:30 p.m.!

Alternative rock band Everclear will be touring with Armed Forces Entertainment (AFE) this summer. The tour is part of AFE’s annual Heat Wave Summer Concert Series. The tour will feature six shows throughout Europe from July 2-10, 2024.

Everclear, one of the leading alternative rock bands to emerge from the ‘90s, celebrated their 30th Anniversary in 2022, and founder, vocalist, and guitarist Art Alexakis has made it clear that he has no plans to slow down. Since forming in 1992, Everclear has enjoyed a lengthy career by any measure, spanning 11 studio releases—including four that have been certified Gold or Platinum—selling over 6 million records, and achieving 12 Top 40 Hit Singles on Mainstream Rock, Alternative, and Adult Top 40 radio, including “Santa Monica,” “Father of Mine,” “I Will Buy You A New Life,” “Wonderful,” and “Everything To Everyone,” as well as numerous videos, thousands of shows, and various other accolades, including a 1998 Grammy nomination.

In 2022, Everclear reissued World of Noise as a special 30th Anniversary remastered, deluxe edition, making the album available for the first time on digital streaming platforms with six bonus songs in addition to its original 12 tracks. Adding to the celebrations that year, Everclear released a commemorative anniversary video, “Everclear – 30 Years Gone: A Retrospective,” hosted by former MTV VJ, current radio host, and longtime friend Matt Pinfield, and embarked on a lengthy North American Tour.

In addition to his thousands of performances with Everclear over the band’s lengthy career, Alexakis created and ran the annual Summerland Tour, which featured a package of popular ‘90s alt-rock bands, and he released his first solo album, Sun Songs, in 2019. More than three decades later, Everclear’s enduring legacy and ongoing appeal as a live band continues.

In observance of Independence Day, please be aware of closures or adjusted hours for our facilities on Thursday, July 4th and Friday, July 5th.

• Panzer Fitness Center Unmanned Access will be unavailable from Noon to Midnight (or 12:00-23:59) on July 4, 2024.
  (Unmanned Access will be accessible again after Midnight or 00:01 on July 5, 2024).
• Patch, Panzer and Kelley Fitness Centers will operate weekend hours 7:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. on July 5, 2024.
• Robinson Fitness Center will only have Unmanned Access available on July 5, 2024.
• The Stuttgart Theatre Center will be closed on July 5, 2024.  
• Java Café on Patch Barracks & Kelley Barracks will be closed on July 5, 2024.

The Stuttgart Duty Bus Service has a special shuttle bus schedule during the Fourth of July Independence Day Celebration.

Safety is a top priority. Security measures will be in place, such as bag checks, enhanced security personnel, and emergency protocols. All attendees should report any suspicious activity or concerns to event staff or security personnel immediately.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees, please adhere to the following guidelines:

• The fest grounds will be considered off post. This means to leave the designated area for 4th of July celebrations and continue further onto the post, all Patrons must present a DOD ID at the security checkpoints.
• Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: fireworks, weapons, drones, or BBQs/cooking units, bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, and scooters are not allowed.
• Service animals are always welcome, but please note that pets or other animals are not permitted.
• Be prepared: remember to bring sunscreen, water, pop-up tents, hats, and other comfort and safety measures to ensure an enjoyable experience.
• Coolers, chairs, and pop-up tents are allowed within designated areas.
• Guests must follow all instructions and announcements made by event staff for the safety and enjoyment of everyone.
• Respect the environment and dispose of trash and recyclables in the designated bins provided throughout the event area.
• Use designated walkways and paths when moving between different areas to ensure pedestrian safety.
• No unauthorized solicitation or commercial activity is permitted.
• Attendees are responsible for the safety and supervision of their children at all times.
• Lost and found items should be reported to event staff or turned in at the designated lost and found area.
• Be mindful of your personal belongings and valuables. The event organizers are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
• Guests must comply with any additional security measures or screenings implemented for the safety and security of all attendees.
• Any violations of event rules or disruptive behavior may result in removal from the premises.
• No Marijuana or other illicit drugs and associated paraphernalia.
