Register Now!“Eagle’s Nest” (Kehlsteinhaus) was built as a teahouse for Adolf Hitler on Kehlstein Mountain at an elevation of 6,017 ft / 1,834 m for his 50th birthday. Its unusual position made it a unique engineering feat. What few realize is that Hitler’s home (the Berghof) and southern headquarters – his second seat of power – were located on Obersalzberg, at the foot of the Eagle’s Nest Mountain. Starting with a brief account of Hitler's life, the bus takes you up steep mountain roads to Obersalzberg, a tiny community above Berchtesgaden. After enjoying the views, spend some time hiking around the area, looking for inspiration to an ever changing world and being thankful we can enjoy these views together and take an opportunity to enjoy the crisp air and the opportunity to be up in the Bavarian Alps.
After the Eagles Nest you will transfer to the gorgeous city of Berchtesgaden. The alpine setting is gorgeous and the history is fascinating, so it's definitely worth the trip. The best thing to see here is really to enjoy the charming, mountain-village ambiance. Stroll through the winding streets lined with pastel buildings decorated with "Luftmalerei" paintings, browse the wood carvings and Bavarian clothes in the shops, and stop at one of the many cafes with outdoor seating to enjoy Bavarian specialties and beer, or Kaffee und Kuchen. Call or stop in the Tours office for the complete itinerary. Itinerary is subject to changes due to circumstances beyond our control.
Cost
$189 per person. Cost includes Roundtrip transportation and elevator up to the Eagles Nest.
