Schnapps Fountain Path

Enjoy some Schnapps and beautiful views on this hike through the Black Forest!

#

Experience breathtaking scenery, majestic views, and food from local restaurants while savoring local spirits and socializing! For this 7km walk through the Black Forest, we’re taking you to Sasbachwalden, in the Black Forest, in Germany. This is the perfect day trip for adults who want to have some fun with a beginner hike outdoors while having the chance to taste the local schnapps of the region!

Two routes called "Schnapsbrunnenwege” exist in this delightful Black Forest wine village 40km from Strasbourg. They are signposted routes with fountains where bottles of locally produced schnapps are waiting for you in the cooler. We also often find other delicacies: liquors, wine, soft drinks, sometimes coffee, and even chips to accompany the tasting if needed!

You help yourself and pay into a piggy bank on site. Make sure you have some change, as you’ll need to pay €1 per glass and €2/3 if you take a larger quantity. What a pleasure it is to stop off at a cute little place, sample local specialties, and enjoy a pleasant, gourmet break!

Don’t worry about having one too many -- let us handle the driving! Our action officers will depart from Outdoor Recreation on Kelley Barracks and make stops at Robinson Barracks Zentrum, Patch Barracks Fitness Center/CYS Hub, and finally The Panzer Main Exchange before we head out on this micro adventure! Feeling a little warm and fuzzy after the hike? Fear not, ODR will run the same route in reverse upon returning.

6 participants minimum is required. For groups larger than 12, another vehicle is required.
