Personal Training Certification Workshop

Sports & Fitness is joining forces with the International Fitness Professionals Association (IFPA) to offer an opportunity to become certified as an NCCA accredited personal fitness trainer.

Sign up and gain access to the heavily discounted Premium Package study materials and a three-day on-site workshop taught by IFPA President Dr. James Bell, a former Service Member.

IFPA is VA approved and the certification class is reimbursable under the GI Bill after exam is passed. Regularly priced at $1497, but offered to the USAG Stuttgart community for $697. BOSS Members can participate in this course for just $75!

March 6
9-9:30 a.m.: Intro to Personal Training
9:30-10 a.m.: Client Consultation and Assessment
10-11:30 a.m.: Fitness Testing, Evaluation, Documentation (Body Composition)
11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Exercise Prescription: Muscle Physiology
12:30-1:30 p.m.: Lunch
1:30-2:30 p.m.: Energy Metabolism, Neurophysiology
2:30-3:30 p.m.: Principles of Strength Training
3:30-4:30 p.m.: Principles of Aerobic Training
4:30-5:30 p.m.: Safety, Anatomy

March 7
9-10 a.m.: Exercise Principles and Muscle Actions
10-11 a.m.: Development of Effective Training Programs
11 a.m.-12 p.m.: Program Design and Development
12-1 p.m.: Safety, Anatomy
1-2 p.m. : Lunch
2-3 p.m.: Training the Major Muscle Groups
3-4 p.m.: Developing a Complete Fitness Program
4-5 p.m.: Nutritional Considerations for Personal Trainers

March 8*
9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Practical Exercise Movement Learning, Safe and Effective Exercise Technique and Management, Safe and Effective Spotting Technique and Form Correction Lower Body Exercises: Squats, Deadlifts, Leg Press, Leg Extension, Leg Curl, Heel Raises and the most effective variations.

12:30-1:30 p.m.: Lunch
1:30-5 p.m.: Upper Body Exercises: Chest Pres, Shoulder Press, Lateral Raises, Curls, Tricep Extensions, Push-ups, Pull-Downs, Rows, Shrugs, Wrist Curls, and numerous variations.

*Note: Students should be dressed for PT
