MWR Tour: Queen's Fireworks in Heidelberg

As the sun sets over the glowing castle, the second part of the spectacle begins. In the summer of 1613 the Elector Fiedrich V had the famous fireworks staged in 1613 in order to provide a fitting welcome for his newly-betrothed wife Elizabeth Stuart. These fireworks laid the cornerstone for the later festivals of light held in the night sky over Heidelberg. Heidelberg city lights up with music, beer gardens, wine corners on the banks of the river, and locals enjoy the last bit of summer sunshine and warmth. Enjoy a glass of wine as fireworks light up the Neckar river with the beautiful castle ruins in the background. 

In the afternoon we will take you on a private tour that will take you through some of Heidelberg's historical sightings, to include a funicular ride up to the beautiful castle ruins. Enjoy a relaxed day in one of our region's most beautiful cities!
