Light Painting Class

What is light painting? Photographing a dark scene while adding light. In a classroom environment we will learn how to light paint small scenes using our digital cameras with flashlights and long exposures. This type of photography adds a unique look to the image that is all controlled by you, the photographer.

You will learn:

  • Shooting in manual mode (shutter speeds, F-Stops, ISO)
  • Depth of Field
  • Focus in the dark
  • Exposure with the histogram
  • White Balance
  • File Types

Equipment needed:

  • DSLR/Mirrorless type camera
  • Tripod if possible
  • Small/Med flashlight
