On June 6, 1944 the Allied Forces of Britain, America, Canada, and France put into motion a coordinated attack against German forces on the coast of Normandy, France, with an overpowering force exceeding 150,000 Soldiers, the Allies attacked and secured a victory that became the turning point for World War II in Europe.
This famous battle is sometimes referred to as D-Day or the Invasion of Normandy. American troops landed at Omaha and Utah beaches. The Utah landing was successful, but the fighting at Omaha beach was fierce and many US Soldiers gave their lives before victory was won. Once the beaches were secured, forces pushed their way inland allowing more troops to land over the next several days. By June 17th over half a million Allied troops had arrived and they began to push the Germans out of France.
Join us as we journey to this sacred spot where thousands of Americans literally gave their all. On this tour we see and learn about the battles hard-won on Utah, Juno, and Omaha beaches on our guided tour. We will continue our tour with a visit to the local Airborne museum. Lastly, we have been invited to pay our respects at a wreath laying ceremony at Normandy's American Cemetery and Memorial. After the ceremony we will have free time to wander the cemetery and visit the museum. If you know of someone laid to rest here, there are many caring attendants that will assist you in locating their plot.
• Fee covers round-trip transportation by commercial bus, 3 overnights in 3 star hotel (based on double occupancy), 3 breakfast meals, guided tour of Normandy Beaches (Omaha, June, and Utah), visit with wreath laying ceremony at Normandy American Military Cemetery and Memorial, visit to Airborne Museum (entry fee not included), and visit to Mont Saint Michel (entry to monastery not included), and ODR escort.
• Participants should bring/wear comfortable and weather appropriate shoes and clothing, sun protection, a jacket for cooler temperatures/rain, backpack for personal belongings, toiletries, euros for meals and shopping, camera, necessary medication, and anything else deemed necessary. We also suggest that you bring something to occupy your time on the bus. If you choose an entertainment device (I-Pad, I-Pod, music player, game system, etc.) we also ask that you bring headphones for the comfort of the others.
• Passport is required!
• Depart Stuttgart Outdoor Recreation, Bldg. 2953 Panzer Kaserne, at 7 p.m. Thursday evening.
• Depart Kaiserslautern Bowling Center, Bldg. 2060 Volgelweh, at 10 p.m. Thursday evening.
• Return to Stuttgart Outdoor Recreation at approximately 10 p.m. Monday night.
• Return to Kaiserslautern Bowling Center at approximately 7 p.m. Monday evening.
• Each B.O.S.S. installation program is responsible for transportation to and from departure locations.

Registration Information
To register for any of our trips or tours, please come by our office on Panzer Kaserne or give us a call during normal business hours (Monday, Thursday, and Friday: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.). All participants must be 18 years old to attend event/trip/tour by oneself. Minors must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. All trips are subject to change. Trips may be cancelled due to lack of participation. Minimum participation must be met by Saturday, April 29, 2017.
Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations made on or before April 29 will be no cancellation charge.
Cancellations made between May 1 and May 6 will incur a 30% cancellation fee ($86).
Cancellations made between May 8 and May 20 will incur a 60% cancellation fee ($174).
Cancellations made between May 22 and May 25 will incur an 80% cancellation fee ($232).
Cancellations made the day of or no shows will be charged a 100% of the trip fee.
