CANCELLED - Rock the 80's Pump and Run

Update: Major bummer! Due to the heavy rain, we've had to cancel the 5K because of flooding on the route. We apologize for the inconvenience, and you'll get a full refund. Thanks for your understanding, and feel free to stop by the fitness center for your workout fix.

Pump up the jam with this fun, family-friendly fitness festivity! Participants are encouraged to wear their raddest leg warmers, head bands, and other iconic 80s items. Participants can choose between running the 5K or running the 5K AND participate in bench press. T-shirts and medals provided for the first 250 registered participants. A special medal insert and bragging rights for “pump” participants who successfully complete the pump.
Weigh-in and bench press kicks off at 6 a.m. with designated time slots for registered participants.
Run portion will kick off at 10 a.m.

Rules for the Pump:

1.       This is not a requirement to run.
2.       The “Pump” part will use basic USAPL Bench Press rules.
3.       Feet will remain flat on the floor.
4.       Shoulders and buttocks must remain in contact with the bench.
5.       You are allowed to arch your back.
6.       Your head can come off the bench.
7.       Lifts must be consecutive. Once you rack the bar, the lift is over.
8.       If during your lifts, you violate one of the above rules, that one lift will not count. We will only count all good lifts.
9.       You will weigh in and whatever your weight is, you must attempt 50% of that weight. For example, if you weigh 220 pounds, you must lift 110 pounds.
10.   You will attempt to do as many reps as you can before going to the start line to run.
11.   If you complete at least 10 reps, you will have your picture taken and posted on our page.
12.   All successful attempts will receive a special insert for their medal.

Register at any USAG Stuttgart Fitness Center or online via WebTrac, starting April 15.
