Come celebrate the freedom to read!

Note: This event has already passed.

Come celebrate your right to read by visiting us during Banned Books Week. The library will feature displays of frequently banned and challenged books, as well as show movie versions of these books throughout the week.

Call the Patch Library for detailed movie listing!

Banned Books Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country. Every September we celebrate the freedom to read and draw national attention to the harms of censorship. This observance highlights the value of free and open access to information and brings together the entire book community (librarians, booksellers, publishers, journalists, teachers, and readers of all types) in shared support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox, or unpopular.
