This Independence Day, we're celebrating with a hometown, Main Street, country theme where cowboy boots, your favorite pair of blue jeans, straw hats and cold beverages are welcome. Families and friends will gather on picnic blankets, kids will run around and splash in the water games, and good music will carry across the cool breeze as guests smile and laugh and create new memories together with friends and family this 4th of July.

Schedule of Events

3 p.m. 

Event opens with 4th of July Parade, DJ music, all gaming, water area, bounce houses, world-famous Warrior Challenge, pony rides, and food & beverages

4:30 - 5 p.m. Pies due to the Judges Area
6 p.m. Meet & Greet with Jerrod Niemann! (Win special tickets! Follow facebook.com/familyandmwr for your chance to win.)
8:30 p.m. Warrior Challenge closes
9 p.m. Water Area, Pony Rides, and Bounce Houses close and DJ finishes
9 - 10:30 p.m. Armed Forces Entertainment presents JERROD NIEMANN on main stage
10:30 p.m. All remaining entertainment closes
10:30 p.m. Fireworks (might vary depending on lighting)

We are so excited to announce: Armed Forces Entertainment presents Jerrod Niemann LIVE at USAG Stuttgart's 4th of July Independence Day celebration! American country music singer and songwriter Jerrod Niemann has released seven albums. These albums have produced a combined ten Top 40 entries on the Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts, including the Platinum Number 1 singles "Lover, Lover" (a cover of Sonia Dada's "You Don't Treat Me No Good"), "Drink to That All Night" and Gold Top 5 single "What Do You Want". Other popular songs include "One More Drinkin' Song" and "God Made A Woman."

Admission

This event is free to attend and open to DOD ID cardholders and their guests. 

Parade

Parade begins at 3 p.m. on Husky Field.  Prior to the parade, everyone will be able to decorate their bikes at Patch Arts & Crafts Center from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. 

Parade Categories 

  • Individual Ages 5 and under (Category 1)
  • Individual K - 5th grade (Category 2)
  • Individual 6th - 8th grade (Category 3)
  • Individual 9th - 12th grade (Category 4)
  • Best Country Fair Family (Category 5)

Parade Prizes

  • 1st place for each category - $50 gift cards
  • Runner up for each category - $25 gift cards

Registration

  • Register with CYS at Parent Central Services or WebTrac between June 27 - 30. 
  • Participants will pick up registration and category cards on July 4 at Patch Arts & Crafts between 11 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
  • Participants will line up according to categories.
  • Judging criteria:

    • adherence to theme
    • overall appearance
Picnic Area

Bring your picnic blankets, lounge chairs, and make memories with your family and friends as you anticipate the night's spectacular fireworks show.

The Picnic Area is also the designated area for any patrons with canopies or pop-up tents. 

Tokens

Tokens will be used for all MWR food and beverage sales on the 4th of July Independence Day Celebration.

1 Token = $3 each

Tokens are available starting at 2 p.m. on 4 July 2022.  Visit the point of sale locations at the event entrance on Husky Field.

Tokens are non-refundable. No cash will be accepted at MWR food and drink stations. Other food and beverage vendors accept cash.

Wristbands for Activities

All-access Wristbands, a $10 per person wrist-band is good for the whole day, or $30 for a family of 4 or more.

Enjoy A TON of activities with your wristband to include:

  • Carnival games including shooting gallery, derby race, roller ball, ball toss, crazy cans, and ring toss!
  • Pony rides
  • CYS Water World will also be around to cool off the kids with power paddlers, surf simulator, water tables, water play areas and gold panning. 
  • Bounce houses galore with a moon-theme, princess-theme, prince-theme, two jumbo fun houses, 1 zip-it obstacle course, 2 soccer kicks, 2 football throws, and a basketball throw!

Warrior Challenge

Do you have what it takes for the Warrior Challenge, An obstacle course with 6 challenges including:

  • Hay Bale Carry (roughly 40lbs each)
  • Tire Flip
  • Horse Shoe Toss
  • Yolk Walk

Participants who complete the challenge will receive a shirt. Medals will be given to top 3 finishers (male & female categories). 

Apple Pie Baking Competition

Registration for the Apple Pie Baking Competition is now closed. If you're already registered to participate, please remember all pies must be wrapped in plastic wrap or in a covered pie container. No whip-cream or ice cream. Only one pie per contestant will be accepted.

Judging criteria

If you are registered, all pies must be turned in between 4:30 - 5:00 p.m. on July 4 to the Judge's table. Judging will begin immediately at 5:05 p.m. Pies will be assigned a number as to not influence the judges. Winner will receive a $50.00 MWR Gift Certificate.

Army Community Service (ACS) welcomes you to participate in free piggy bank decorating.

Instagram Promo

Enter (July 4, 6 - 9 p.m.) into the Stuttgart Family and MWR Independence Day Instagram promotion for your chance to win a $20 MWR Gift Card. The gift card can be used at Broadway Cafe, Java Cafe, Outdoor Recreation, Arts and Crafts, or Kelley Auto Skills. All you have to do is snap a picture and post it on your Instagram. Make sure you are following Stuttgart Family and MWR and use the hashtag #2022stuttgartid4 to be entered.

Must be a U.S. ID cardholder 18 or older and assigned to USAG Stuttgart.

You do not have to be present to win. If not present you must claim your prize by Monday July 12 by messaging Stuttgart Family and MWR or call DSN 596-2809.

You may enter multiple times, but you can only win once.

Grand Finale Firework Show

The main attraction of the night, USAG Stuttgart Fireworks Show is one you don't want to miss! The show will begin at 10:30 p.m. 

Bus/Shuttle Service

It is recommended that community members utilize the Stuttgart Duty Bus Service for the Independence Day Celebration due to limited parking during the event.  The regular "Weekend & US Holidays" schedule will apply, as well as a special "Independence Day Bus Service". Busses will be available at Washington Square after the fireworks.  Busses will depart to all three installations; Panzer Kaserne, Kelley Barracks, and Robinson Barracks.  Busses will return to Patch Barracks and continue running until no longer required.
