MWR Tour: 2 Islands, 1 Big Lake - Bodensee, Germany

Just off the shores of Lake Constance, surrounded by three countries, the Isle of Mainau: An arboretum with millions of flowers and trees, and home to the second largest butterfly house in Germany! This is a photographer and nature-lover's paradise! Children's playgrounds, shopping, and eating opportunities abound on this beautiful island.

Then head off to the beautiful city of Konstanz, surrounded by the blue spring waters of one of the largest lakes in Central Europe. Enjoy delicate frescoes in the Rathaus and Romanesque Cathedral, known for its Gothic spire. Enjoy a guided tour, learning about the importance of Konstanz. Take yourself out to lunch, with beautiful, east-facing lake views.

Lastly, we will head out to the promised second island, crossing state borders into Lindau island of Bavaria. Lindau has a beautiful Mangturm Tower and a grandiose lighthouse. Enjoy walking through the various shops and restaurants, facing the island you just came from! Enjoy a sunset dinner over this sensational lake.
